Several month ago, I made a list of 5 year goals for my business. I then split up the steps that it would take for me to accomplish those goals into a realistic timeline. One of those goals was to add weddings to my photography offerings. I have sought out educational boot camps and courses for wedding photography, so the know-how is there, but I didn't have a portfolio to show.
So I invited my sister and her husband up to help me put together a styled wedding shoot. I planned the color scheme, style, and menu. I purchased all decorations and much of the attire. My sister and brother-in-law were my models, as well as extra hands to help set up and tear down. It ended up costing me the amount as an elopement to pull together, but I am so pleased with the results!
